Management

The management team has extensive experience in evaluating and funding businesses in Africa and the US. The entire senior management team has its roots in Liberia with business and management experience in the US, Africa and Europe. The team is leveraging its cultural, social and economic ties to Liberia and Africa to develop and grow AEI. We would look to satisfy specific management needs in operations and engineering with key hires that we’ve identified and are targeting to bring on board.

Joseph Crayton — Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Crayton is a founder and the architect of AEI and guides the strategic vision and direction of the company. He has extensive experience developing and financing businesses in West Africa and specific experience in energy projects. Mr. Crayton also has 10 years experience evaluating and financing early stage technology companies in the US. He is one of the founders of a venture bank that raised the second largest equity raise for a de novo bank in US history.

Mr. Crayton directed the development and execution of processes, procedures and systems that grew to over $800 million in assets in 2 years. Mr. Crayton serves on the Board of Gabriel Technology Group and was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Non-Governmental Organization, Friends of Liberia. He holds a B.A. Economics from San Francisco State University and a MBA Finance and Strategy from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Owen Harmon — President and COO

Owen Harmon is founder, President, and Chief Operating Officer for AEI. He has a broad range of experiences in Accounting, Finance, and Sales across various business sectors in the U.S. Most recently, Owen was a Business Development Officer for a global investment firm and was directly responsible for generating over $40 million in net new revenue for the firm over a 2 year span. He also served as a Revenue Analyst within their Finance & Treasury Group. In his previous position, he was Finance Manager for Enterprise Events Group, Inc. in San Rafael, CA. On the non- profit front, Owen was a founding member and Treasurer of Each Child Counts Foundation and was an integral part of an ongoing effort to supply humanitarian goods and services to the children of Liberia. Owen holds a B.A. in Accounting and has an MBA, with honors, from Indiana Wesleyan University. He holds NASD Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Candace B. Eastman — Chief Marketing Officer

Ms. Eastman is a founder of the company and has been instrumental in its launch as well as overseeing marketing efforts. She has extensive experience working in the biotechnology industry for close to 20 years, both on the corporate and non-profit side. Advancing from a bench scientist to managing business development projects, her experience includes working for the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and the BIO Venture for Global Health (BVGH). Her experience includes investor relations, positioning emerging firms to attract investors, marketing, and launching organizations.

Ms. Eastman serves on the advisory board for Stratecomm, Inc and on the Board of the Non-governmental Organization, Friends of Liberia. She received a BSc in Biology from the University of North Carolina- Greensboro, and a MBA from Johns Hopkins University.

Edward Greene — Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Greene is a founder of AEI and is actively evaluating financing sources in Europe. He has extensive experience managing and consulting with public and private sector organizations in Europe and sub- Saharan Africa. He served as East Africa Regional Manager for AMSCO BV, a joint IFC and UNDP entity that performed management consulting for African Companies. His experience includes being a Portfolio Manager for the Global Fund and running his own consulting company.

He holds a B.A Business Administration and a MBA Finance from the European University in Amsterdam
